Here’s what we have scheduled this week at Seven Seas U

This Week:

  • Mon. Jan. 23: Caribbean/Bahamas Weather: Local Effects with Chris Parker - Quick review of large-scale (Synoptic/Gradient) weather, so we can contrast that with local weather effects in the Bahamas and Caribbean. We'll discuss each areas' unique local effects, and emphasize local effects which apply in many areas.  This Webinar is appropriate for all cruisers, as some effects (winds paralleling coasts and others) occur in most areas of the world. I'll divulge some of my forecasting "secrets".  Suggest good background in weather, and/or at-least "Weather 101" prior to this course. Recordings of last week’s Weather 100 and Weather 102 (which includes Weather 101) are available.
  • Wed. Jan 25:   Marine Air Conditioning with Bob Williams: don’t wait until the heat of summer is upon you… Bob will present an overview of air conditioning systems technologies available to the cruiser. An explanation of calculating cabin area heat leak will be provided and considerations of air flow. Comparisons between direct expansion and chiller systems will be made along with alternative means to power up these systems without a generator. A basic explanation of the air conditioning refrigerant cycle as it pertains to diagnostics and troubleshooting will be provided. In that all these systems rely on water cooled condensers it warrants an explanation of why centrifugal pumps are used and when they don't work.

It’s not too late to register for the “All 5 of Bob Williams” webinar package. These are some of our most popular webinars and Bob Williams is a top notch instructor. This package will save you $50! The all 5 webinars meet on Wednesdays (Jan. 11 to Feb. 8) and include:
  1. Offshore Energy Management – by recording
  2. Solar and Wind Power Technologies – by recording
  3. Marine Air Conditioning
  4. Marine Refrigeration
  5. AC and DC Desalination (Watermakers).

Here’s what people have to say about Bob Williams:
