altWriting for the Boating Market:

Do you dream of seeing your name in print? Would you like to pick up some extra cash as you cruise? Maybe you enjoy writing about boating and the cruising lifestyle in a journal or on your website or blog and just want to become a better writer. Well, now’s the time to hone your skills, jumpstart your freelance writing career and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow boating writers. This unique course on writing for the boating market will introduce you to this niche market and show you what you need to know to make your first sale.

This 5 week course will provide writers with the necessary tools to break in to the boating magazine market (70% of the 35 students who took this class last fall have already received acceptance letters from paying boating magazines!). Can't make all the live sessions? No problem, you can listen to the recordings.

Course material includes What the Boating Magazines are Looking For (An Insider's Guide Direct from the Editors). This PDF file is the most up-to-date information available and it comes directly from the boating magazine editors. The class will include writing assignments. Read the testimonials on the Seven Seas U website. You’re gonna be impressed with this one!

Optional Fee: $20 for personalized feedback on final writing assignment. This will be an analysis of your writing with tips on improving your article and will help you polish your article and get it ready for submission to a boating magazine. Possible markets for your work will also be discussed. To register for the optional personalized feedback, please email Barbara Theisen at editor@ssca.org
